Application

Diisopropyl ether is a good solvent for the extraction of nicotine from tobacco. It is also a good solvent for paraffin wax and resin. Diisopropyl ether and other solvents are often used in the dewaxing process of paraffin oil products. As a solvent, diisopropyl ether is also used in pharmaceutical, smokeless powder, coating and paint cleaning. The product is easy to form peroxide, which can cause explosion when shaking. P-benzyl aminophenol is often added as stabilizer. The anaesthesia effect of diisopropyl ether is lighter than that of ethyl ether, but the duration of anaesthesia is longer.

Used as solvent, used for the concentration and recovery of dilute acetic acid or butyric acid, used as extraction solvent of sodium thiocyanate in wet acrylic fiber process.

It is used as standard substance, solvent and extraction agent for chromatographic analysis and also for organic synthesis.

As a solvent, it is also used for the concentration and recovery of acetic acid or dilute butyric acid solution
